Emitted Voltage Spikes Test
MIL-STD-1275 D/E/F
MIL-STD-1275 28V DC Input Power Specifications for Devices for Use in Military Vehicles The D/E/F military standard includes a series of test procedures to determine the power supply requirements of electronic devices used in military systems and to protect against sudden voltage emissions. These test procedures include the sudden voltage release test.
Emitted Voltage Spikes Test is a test performed to measure the resistance of the electrical systems inside the vehicle to sudden voltage fluctuations that occur in the system during engine operation or due to some other reasons. In the Sudden Emitted Voltage Spikes Test, the power output from the vehicle battery or alternator is suddenly increased and how electronic devices react to this sudden power increase is measured.
The voltage waveform used in the Instantaneous Voltage Release Test is defined in the MIL-STD-1275 D/E/F standard and is generally applied with voltage levels of 12V DC or 24V DC. During the Sudden Voltage Release Test, the operating status of electronic devices is monitored and whether there is any damage or deterioration in their operation is observed.
The Emitted Voltage Spikes Test, included in the MIL-STD-1275 D/E/F standard, is an important test to ensure that the electronic devices in the military vehicle are protected against sudden voltage increases. With the SEmitted Voltage Spikes Test, it is ensured that the electronic devices in the vehicle remain intact and operate correctly.
