CS118/ESD – Electrostatic Discharge Test
ESD stands for "Electrostatic Discharge" and refers to a testing process carried out to prevent damage to electronic devices due to electrostatic energy. Electrostatic energy occurs when there is a static electric potential difference between two objects. Due to this potential difference, one object can transfer energy to another, potentially causing damage and malfunctions in electronic components.
CS118/ESD – Electrostatic Discharge Test, performed within the scope of the MIL-STD-461 standard, is one of the EMC tests performed for electrical, electronic and electromechanical devices designed for use in military systems and devices used in the systems and subsystems of these devices. CS118/ESD – Electrostatic Discharge Test is used to evaluate how resistant particularly sensitive semiconductor devices and integrated circuits are to electrostatic discharges. CS118/ESD – Electrostatic Discharge Testing is generally based on a standard testing procedure, which is usually accomplished by applying an electrostatic discharge to the device at a specific voltage level (typically around thousands of volts). This discharge can be directed to the inlet or outlet points of the device. CS118/ESD – Electrostatic Discharge Test results are used to determine the device's resistance to electrostatic energy. In short, CS118/ESD – Electrostatic Discharge Test is applied to prevent damages that may result from electrostatic charge discharge.
Within the scope of our STEST facility located in Ankara, which is an organization accredited by TURKAK, CS118/ESD – Electrostatic Discharge in the E/F/G versions of the MIL-STD-461 standard in accordance with the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories Standard. We are performing the test.
