Reverse Polarity Test

MIL-STD-1275 (28 VDC Input Power Characteristics for Military Vehicle Applications), including revisions D/E/F, is used to verify the compatibility of electrical equipment with the power systems used on military ground vehicles. Within this scope, the Reverse Polarity Test evaluates the unit’s response and potential susceptibility to damage when reverse polarity is applied at the vehicle power interface.

Objective Purpose

  • To verify the unit’s robustness against reverse polarity conditions.
  • To support safe and reliable power integration on military vehicle platforms.

Test Scope Scope

  • Application of 28 VDC reverse polarity at the power input.
  • Verification of potential damage and the effectiveness of protection mechanisms.

Technical Approach Process

  • Reverse polarity is applied in a controlled manner using appropriate test equipment.
  • Functional behavior and safety performance are monitored throughout the test.

Typical Applications Use

  • Military ground vehicles.
  • Vehicle-mounted electronic systems and subsystems.

At our STEST facility in Ankara, accredited by TURKAK, Reverse Polarity Testing is performed in accordance with TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 within the scope of MIL-STD-1275 D/E/F.
