STEST is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Institution (TURKAK) and carries out its testing and verification activities in an independent, competent, and impartial manner in compliance with national and international standards.
Cooling Device Type Test
The Cooling Device Type Test applies to mechanically refrigerated units with forced-air circulation and an evaporator, with or without a heating function. These mechanical refrigeration units are intended for use with insulated transport equipment. For the international carriage of perishable foodstuffs, equipment may not be designated as “insulated,” “refrigerated,” “mechanically refrigerated,” “heated,” or “mechanically refrigerated and heated” unless it complies with the relevant definitions and requirements.
Purpose Objective
- To apply the test steps used to calculate the cooling capacity of vehicle-compartment refrigeration units at the specified temperature, within the scope of ATP type tests.
- To verify the suitability of cooling units for the safe transport of perishable foodstuffs.
Test Scope Scope
- Forced-air, evaporator-type mechanical refrigeration devices, with or without a heating function.
- Mechanical refrigeration devices and vehicle-compartment cooling units intended for use with insulated transport equipment.
Technical Implementation Process
- Upon customer request, vehicle-compartment cooling units are tested in line with the ATP Handbook (2020/2021 approach).
- Classification as “refrigerated,” “mechanically refrigerated,” and/or “heated” equipment is based on conformity with the applicable definitions and requirements.
Application Areas Use
- Cooling units installed in vehicle compartments used for the international carriage of perishable foodstuffs.
- Mechanical refrigeration devices used together with insulated transport equipment (with or without heating).
