TSE/IEC/EN 55014-2/CISPR 14-2 Standard Tests

TSE/IEC/EN 55014-2/CISPR 14-2 standard tests specify the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements for household appliances. These tests are used to evaluate electromagnetic emissions and the potential impact of those emissions on other equipment. As a result, they support the verification of EMC performance and help demonstrate compliance with applicable quality requirements prior to placing products on the market.

Objective Purpose

  • To measure electromagnetic emission levels produced by household appliances.
  • To assess the potential effects of emissions on other devices and systems.

Test Scope Coverage

  • Radio-Frequency (RF) emission tests and power-line conducted emission tests.
  • Electrostatic discharge (ESD) tests, harmonic emission tests, and transient disturbance tests.

Technical Implementation Process

  • RF emissions are evaluated by measuring the electromagnetic radiation generated during appliance operation.
  • Power-line conduction, ESD response, harmonic spectrum, and transient waveforms are measured to identify electromagnetic interference and disturbances.

Applications Use Cases

  • Electromagnetic compatibility evaluations for household appliances.
  • Pre-market compliance checks to confirm conformity with applicable quality requirements.
