TSE/IEC/EN 55014-1/CISPR 14-1 STANDARD TESTS
TSE/IEC/EN 55014-1/CISPR 14-1 Standard Tests
TSE/IEC/EN 55014-1 and CISPR 14-1 are key standards that define test methods and limits for evaluating the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of household appliances, electric tools, and similar equipment. These tests are used to measure electromagnetic emission levels and to assess the potential impact of those emissions on other devices. As a result, the standards support electromagnetic compatibility and interoperability, helping ensure that products meet defined quality and compliance requirements before being placed on the market.
Objective Purpose
- To measure the electromagnetic emission levels of household electrical appliances.
- To determine the potential effects of emissions on other devices and systems.
Test Scope Coverage
- Radio-frequency emission tests and power-line conducted emission measurements.
- Electrostatic discharge (ESD), harmonic emissions, and transient phenomena testing, where applicable.
Technical Implementation Process
- Radio-frequency emissions are evaluated by measuring the electromagnetic radiation generated during appliance operation.
- By measuring conducted emissions, ESD response, harmonic spectrum, and transient waveforms, electromagnetic interference and disturbances are identified.
Applications Use Cases
- EMC assessments for household electrical appliances and similar products.
- Pre-compliance and conformity checks prior to market release.
