High-Frequency Electric Field Immunity in Accordance with MIL-STD-461

RS103 Test (Radiated Susceptibility, Electric Field, 10kHz–40GHz)

The RS103 test, conducted within the scope of MIL-STD-461, is performed to assess the immunity level of electrical and electronic equipment against high-frequency electromagnetic fields. The test verifies that equipment operates compatibly with other onboard systems and maintains stable performance under externally induced electromagnetic effects. It is particularly important for ensuring the reliable operation of communication and sensing systems and supporting overall electromagnetic compatibility across the platform.

Purpose of the RS103 Test Objective

  • Assess the immunity level to high-frequency electromagnetic fields.
  • Verify compatibility with other onboard systems and stable performance.
  • Support the reliable operation of communication and sensing systems.

Scope of the RS103 Test Scope

  • Applicable to equipment used on military platforms.
  • Tests are conducted under normal operating conditions.
  • Frequency ranges and limit values defined in MIL-STD-461 revisions E, F, and G are applied.

RS103 Test Method Process

  • A test field is generated using electric-field antennas or horn/log-periodic antennas.
  • The equipment’s normal operating functions are monitored throughout the test.
  • Measured values are compared against the applicable standard limits.

Our RS103 Testing Services and Infrastructure STEST

  • RS103 tests are performed in accordance with MIL-STD-461 revisions E, F, and G.
  • Tests are carried out in our TÜRKAK-accredited laboratory in compliance with TS EN ISO/IEC 17025.
  • RS103 testing is conducted in our semi-anechoic test room under measurement conditions required by military standards.
