Low-Frequency Magnetic Field Emissions Verification in Accordance with MIL-STD-461

RE101 Test (Radiated Emissions, Magnetic Field, 30Hz–100kHz)

The RE101 test, conducted within the scope of MIL-STD-461, is intended to evaluate the low-frequency magnetic field emissions performance of electrical and electronic equipment. The test helps ensure that equipment does not adversely affect other onboard systems and complies with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements, supporting reliable operation of near-field devices and power circuits across the platform.

Purpose of the RE101 Test Objective

  • Minimize platform-level interference by evaluating low-frequency magnetic field emissions.
  • Confirm compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.
  • Support reliable operation of near-field devices and power circuits across the platform.

Scope of the RE101 Test Scope

  • Applicable to military equipment with AC and DC power lines, as well as other electronic systems.
  • Tests are performed under normal operating conditions of the equipment.
  • Frequency ranges and limit values defined in MIL-STD-461 revisions E, F, and G are applied.

RE101 Test Method Process

  • Magnetic field measurements are performed in the immediate vicinity of the equipment.
  • Field strength is recorded using antennas and probe systems.
  • Normal operating functions of the equipment are observed during the test.
  • Measurement results are compared against the applicable standard limit values.

Our RE101 Testing Services and Infrastructure STEST

  • We conduct RE101 magnetic field emissions tests in accordance with MIL-STD-461 revisions E, F, and G in our TÜRKAK-accredited laboratory, compliant with TS EN ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Tests are executed using configurations aligned with platform and project requirements, based on the methods defined by the standard.
  • RE101 testing is performed in our semi-anechoic test room under the measurement conditions required by military standards.

At STEST, we perform RE101 magnetic field emissions tests under the scope of MIL-STD-461 within our accredited infrastructure, ensuring the measurement conditions required by military standards.
