MIL-STD-464
The MIL-STD-464 military test standard defines electromagnetic environmental effects, interface requirements, and verification criteria for airborne, maritime, space, and ground systems, including associated munitions.
MIL-STD-464 covers the requirements established for the acquisition of fully integrated or modified platforms of various types, such as launch vehicles, submarines, ships, spacecraft, ground vehicles, and aircraft.
The objective of the standard is to ensure electromagnetic compatibility among all subsystems within a system and to verify that equipment and safety-critical functions are not adversely affected by internal or external electromagnetic effects. This verification aims to ensure that systems are electromagnetically compatible both internally and with their external electromagnetic environments prior to operational use.
MIL-STD-464 requires that verification activities encompass all phases of the system life cycle, including normal in-service operation, storage, transportation, handling, packaging, loading, unloading, launch, and standard operating procedures.
At our STEST facility located in Ankara, which is accredited by TÜRKAK, tests specified in the A, B, and C versions of the MIL-STD-464 standard are performed in accordance with the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, “General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories.”
