ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS TESTS IN THE OPERATOR SECTION
TURKAK Accredited Testing and Verification
STEST is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Institution (TURKAK) and carries out its testing and verification activities in an independent, competent, and impartial manner in compliance with national and international standards.
What Is the Standard?
TS ISO 10263-4 defines a test method used to evaluate the performance of heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation systems applied in the operator cabin of construction and earth-moving machinery.
Purpose
This standard is intended to observe and report how temperature and humidity conditions within the operator enclosure vary under different ambient conditions. In doing so, it verifies the minimum performance levels required to support operator safety and comfort inside the cabin.
Scope
The heating system’s capability to increase cabin temperature under low ambient conditions,
The air-conditioning/climate control system’s cooling performance and humidity management under high ambient conditions,
The ventilation system’s ability to provide fresh-air circulation,
Reporting system effects based on measurements obtained under defined environmental conditions.
Method
During testing, temperature and humidity values are continuously measured using sensors positioned at multiple locations within the operator cabin. These measurements demonstrate the system’s contribution to in-cabin climate conditions. The method is used to determine whether the environmental conditions experienced by the operator remain within safe and acceptable limits.
Conclusion
TS ISO 10263-4 establishes internationally recognized minimum performance requirements for climate control, heating, and ventilation systems used in operator cabins. As a result, it provides documented evidence that machinery delivers a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for the operator under real operating conditions.
