Power Line Susceptibility Verification in Accordance with MIL-STD-461

CS101 Test (Conducted Susceptibility, Power Leads 30Hz–150kHz)

The CS101 test, defined within the scope of MIL-STD-461, is intended to assess the immunity of electrical and electronic equipment to conducted electromagnetic interference transmitted through power input leads. The test verifies that equipment can operate compatibly with other onboard systems and evaluates its robustness against externally induced electromagnetic effects. By supporting stable operation during mission conditions, CS101 contributes to overall electromagnetic compatibility across the platform.

Purpose of the CS101 Test Objective

  • Assess immunity levels against conducted electromagnetic interference on power input leads.
  • Verify compatible operation with other systems installed on the platform.
  • Evaluate robustness against external electromagnetic effects and support mission stability.

Scope of the CS101 Test Scope

  • Applicable to military equipment with AC and DC power input leads.
  • Tests are performed while the equipment operates under normal operating conditions.
  • Frequency ranges and limit values defined in MIL-STD-461 revisions E, F, and G are taken as the basis.
  • Covers equipment used on land, naval, and airborne platforms.

CS101 Test Method Process

  • Controlled electromagnetic interference is applied to the equipment via the power leads.
  • Stable line impedance conditions are ensured throughout the test.
  • Interference signals are injected using EMI generators.
  • Equipment performance and potential malfunctions are monitored and recorded.
  • Results determine the equipment’s immunity level to power-lead conducted electromagnetic interference.

Our CS101 Testing Services and Infrastructure STEST

  • We conduct CS101 conducted susceptibility tests in accordance with MIL-STD-461 revisions E, F, and G requirements.
  • Tests are executed using configurations aligned with platform and project requirements, based on the methods defined by the standard.
  • CS101 tests are carried out in our shielded room, ensuring the measurement conditions required by military standards.

At STEST, we perform CS101 conducted susceptibility tests under the scope of MIL-STD-461, ensuring the measurement conditions required by military standards.
